The height of this orchid is from 3 to 40 inches (7 to 100 cm). The flowers are large for a Piperia - up to 1.3 cm in diameter. This species grows between sea level and 1000m along the Pacific Coast of USA as far north as British Columbia. In California it flowers around May and in Washington mid July.
