Gymnadenia densiflora Marsh fragrant orchid Photographed Glamorgan, Wales, 22 June 1997 Negative number 97s13a This tall orchid likes an alkaline marshy habitat unlike the much shorter G. borealis which prefers an acid marshy habitat. G. conopsea prefers an alkaline grassland habitat. The labellum has a different shape to the other two species. Prior to DNA sequencing this species was regarded as a sub-species of G. conopsea. |
